IDP Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to announce the return of 22-year-old defenseman, Joel Gavigan, for the 2024/25 season.

Gavigan, who collected both the ‘Defenseman of the Year’ and ‘Players Player’ awards at the end of season awards night, registered 15 points (4 goals, 11 assists), and 8 penalty-minutes in 32 appearances for the NIHL Blaze last season.

On re-signing for the NIHL Blaze Gavigan said…

“I couldn’t be happier about returning to this team. We have continued to grow and grow since I joined and the results last season showed how far we have come.”

“This next season is a really important one for the team and I am so glad to be a part of it. Last season we broke records, this season we are going for trophies.”

“Joel has been with us for two seasons now and he has a played a big part in our growth over those past two seasons. He continues to put in great performances week in week out for us and is a valuable member of our defensive core and special teams.”
