Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to announce the addition of defenceman Jake Storer to the senior roster ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Storer, born in December 2006, is a product of the Coventry Blaze junior pathway and has progressed through the organisation from U16 level through to U19 hockey. Elite Prospects lists the 19-year-old as a defenceman and records his development with Coventry dating back to the 2021/22 season.

The move represents the next step in Storer's development as he makes the transition into senior hockey with the NIHL Blaze.

During his three seasons with Coventry Blaze U19, Storer established himself as an important contributor from the blue line. He finished his U19 career with 46 appearances, nine goals and 28 assists for 37 points, averaging 0.80 points per game.

His most productive campaign came in 2024/25, when Storer recorded 15 points from 16 England U19 2 appearances, including three goals and 12 assists. He also contributed 15 points in 16 appearances across the England U19 2 competition, demonstrating his ability to generate offence from defence.

Storer has also already demonstrated leadership qualities within the Blaze pathway. He wore the captain's 'C' for Coventry Blaze U18 during the 2023/24 season, before taking on the same responsibility with the U19 side during the 2024/25 campaign.

That progression through the junior ranks, combined with his offensive contribution from the blue line, makes Storer an exciting addition to the senior Blaze setup.

His arrival also continues the club's commitment to providing a pathway from junior hockey into senior hockey, giving young Coventry-developed players the opportunity to establish themselves within the NIHL Blaze environment.

With a strong junior career behind him, Storer will now look to take the next step, learn from the experienced players around him and compete for opportunities in the Blaze defensive group during the 2026/27 campaign.
