IDP Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to announce the signing of 25-year-old defenceman, Jordan Stokes, for the 2024/25 season.

Stokes, a product of the Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Academy, returns to the club having spent the last 3 season (2021-24) playing for NIHL1 North side, Solihull Barons where he registered 22 points (7 goals, 15 assists), and 35 penalty-minutes in 45 appearances.

After captaining the Academy’s U18 side and playing for GB U18 in his final season as an U18 (2015/16 season) Stokes joined Hull Pirates in the old EPIHL, registering 6 assists in 57 appearances before joining Telford Tigers the following season.

Following a two season spell (2017-19) in Telford in which he registered 35 points (4 goals, 31 assists) in 67 appearances, Stokes then joined Milton Keynes Lightning for the 2019/20 season, registering 5 points (1 goal, 4 assists), and 40 penalty-minutes in 49 appearances before Covid shut the things down for the 2020/21 season.

On signing for the NIHL Blaze Stokes said…

“I’m excited to be back where it all started and it’s good to come back and have familiar faces as well as a coaching team with as much as experience as they do.”

“I’m looking forward to helping where I can on and off the ice and hopefully help the team and club get closer to winning some silverware.”

“Having trained with the team for a few weeks each session is getting better and the team is looking sharp.”

“Looking forward to pulling on the blue jersey again and being back on home ice.”
