Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to confirm that forward Sam Prosser will return to the club for the 2026/27 season.
One of the most experienced players within the Blaze dressing room, Prosser will continue his long association with Coventry after agreeing a contract extension on 12 July 2026.
The 33-year-old forward has become a key figure for the Blaze over recent seasons, bringing a wealth of experience, versatility and leadership to the lineup. Having first joined the Blaze organisation in 2016, Prosser has now amassed 171 appearances for Coventry NIHL Blaze, recording 45 goals and 61 assists for 106 points.
The 2025/26 campaign was another productive season for Prosser, with the forward finishing as one of the Blaze's leading offensive contributors. Across 22 NIHL 2 regular-season appearances, he recorded 9 goals and 12 assists for 21 points, averaging almost a point per game.
His ability to contribute in all areas of the game has made him a valuable asset for Coventry. Whether providing offence, supporting younger players or taking on important minutes in key situations, Prosser's experience has been an important part of the Blaze's success in recent seasons.
Away from his Blaze career, Prosser also brings significant experience from across the British hockey pyramid. Elite Prospects records him with 349 career appearances, 60 goals and 83 assists for 143 points, highlighting the depth of experience he brings to the dressing room.
Prosser has also featured at NIHL 1 level, recording 77 appearances, 13 goals and 6 assists for 19 points during his time competing at that level.
His return adds another experienced piece to a Blaze roster that continues to combine established leaders with developing talent. Following a 2025/26 season that saw Coventry finish third in NIHL 2 and reach the playoffs, Prosser's experience will once again be valuable as the team looks to challenge for honours.
Welcome back, Sam!
