Next up in our interview series is defenseman Charles Coney.

At the halfway point in the season, are you happy with where the team is at?

I am happy with the team’s place at this point in the season as we have managed to put ourselves in a good place to contend for silverware if we can pull out good performances in the coming months. 

Only three losses in the league so far, is that testament to how far this team has come?

I think it’s a testament to the development of the team over the past couple of seasons and is also a showing of this squad’s grit and determination to win even when games get though. 

A huge January ahead, including the cup semi finals. What would it mean for this team to make a final of a tournament?

I think for this team to make the final would mean a lot to many of the lads as it is something we have strived for and come very close to in the past few years and the goal is now attainable if we can continue to develop, improve and put on good performances in the important games ahead. 

What are the teams expectations now, into the end of the season?

I think our expectations as a team are to continue to challenge at the top of the table and cup competitions but also to continue to develop, work hard and grow as a squad to become the best we can. Therefore giving ourselves the best chance of achieving the goals we set out at the start of the season.
