Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to confirm that goaltender Hayden Laverick will return to the club for the 2026/27 season.

One of the most experienced players within the Blaze setup, Laverick will continue his long-standing association with Coventry as he enters another campaign between the pipes.

The Nuneaton-born netminder has been a key figure in the Blaze organisation for many years, with Elite Prospects recording 337 appearances across his career with Coventry teams, including 183 appearances for Coventry NIHL Blaze.

Laverick's experience is unrivalled within the current Blaze roster. Having first appeared for Coventry back in 2007, he has now accumulated more than two decades of hockey experience, making him one of the longest-serving players connected with the club.

The 2025/26 season saw Laverick continue to demonstrate his importance to the Blaze, appearing in 17 NIHL 2 regular-season games, posting a 2.31 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage while recording 13 wins.

He was also instrumental during cup competition, featuring in both the NIHL 2 North Cup and Laidler Cup campaigns, producing a .935 save percentage across three North Cup appearances.

Beyond the statistics, Laverick provides something every successful team needs — experience, composure and leadership. His understanding of the league and ability to perform in high-pressure situations makes him a valuable presence in the Blaze dressing room.

With Laverick back in goal, the Blaze continue to build a roster combining experience and continuity as they look ahead to the 2026/27 campaign.

Welcome back, Hayden!
