Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to confirm that defenceman Gregor Park will return to the club for the 2026/27 season.
The Scottish blue liner will continue his time in Coventry colours after establishing himself as a dependable and consistent presence on the Blaze back end over recent seasons.
Park has been part of the Blaze organisation since 2021, and his return will see him enter another campaign as part of a defensive group that has continued to develop and compete at the top end of NIHL 2. Elite Prospects records Park with 88 NIHL 2 appearances for Coventry, contributing three goals and 12 assists for 15 points.
Since joining the Blaze setup, Park has brought reliability, composure and a strong defensive mindset to the team. While his primary role comes in limiting opposition chances, his ability to contribute offensively from the blue line has continued to develop, with his career totals across Coventry hockey standing at 184 appearances, 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points.
The 2025/26 season saw Park continue to play an important role within the Blaze defensive unit, helping Coventry produce one of the strongest defensive records in NIHL 2. The Blaze conceded just 62 goals in 24 regular-season games, finishing third in the league standings with 47 points.
At just 23 years old, Park represents an important part of the next generation of Blaze players, having already gained significant senior experience while continuing to develop his game at NIHL level.
His return adds further stability to a defensive group that already includes Joel Gavigan, Daniel Upton, Daniel Retter, Jack McKay and new signing Liam Bartholomew, giving Head Coach Sean Alderson a strong mix of experience, size and developing talent on the blue line.
With another season ahead, Park will be looking to continue his progression and play his part as the Blaze aim to challenge for silverware in 2026/27.
Welcome back, Gregor!
