IDP Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to announce the return of 23-year-old defenceman, Joel Gavigan, for the 2025/26 season.

Gavigan, who has been the NIHL Blaze’s leading point scoring defeceman in each of the previous three season since joining the club, registered 17 points (4 goals, 13 assists), and 8 penalty-minutes in 29 appearances last season.

On re-signing for the NIHL Blaze Gavigan said… “I’m super excited to be back in Coventry for my fourth year.”

“Since I’ve been here, the team has grown and grown and I think we are in a great spot to do something special.”

“After a long summer, I’m excited to get back on the ice, meet the new guys and take it one step further this season and win some silverware.”

NIHL Blaze Head Coach, Sean Alderson said… “Joel has been part of our top defensive pairing and a key member of our special teams in each of the past three seasons he has been with us so I am delighted he has agreed to return for another season.”

“He skates and moves the puck very well and consistently puts in good performances night after night.”
