Finnley Wall Is Our First New Player

Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to announce the signing of forward Finnley Wall ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 21-year-old joins the Blaze from the Sheffield Bears, adding further youth, energy and versatility to the Coventry forward group as preparations continue for the new campaign. We confirmed the move on 16 July 2026, with Wall making the switch to Coventry following his time in Sheffield.
Wall brings valuable NIHL experience despite his young age, having already established himself as a reliable contributor at this level. Primarily listed as a forward, but also capable of playing defence, his versatility gives Head Coach Sean Alderson another flexible option within the lineup.
After developing through the Coventry and Nottingham hockey pathways, Wall has continued to progress through the NIHL system, gaining valuable senior experience with the Sheffield Bears before making the move to the Blaze.
His arrival forms part of the Blaze’s continued focus on building a balanced roster, combining established experience with younger players looking to take the next step in their careers.
Wall joins a growing group of forwards preparing for the 2026/27 campaign, alongside returning players including captain Daniel Kent, Arthur Brookes, Harrison Sumner and Ethan Wheeldon.
With his work ethic, versatility and hunger to continue developing, Wall will be looking to make an immediate impact in Blaze colours as Coventry aim to build on a strong 2025/26 season which saw the team finish third in NIHL 2 with 47 points.
Welcome to Coventry, Finnley!
