The IPD Coventry NIHL Blaze are pleased to announce the return of 29-year-old defenceman, Niall Simpson, for the remainder of the season.

Simpson, who made just a handful of appearances last season due to work commitments, returns to bolster the defence ahead of next weeks signing deadline.

In his time with the NIHL Blaze Simpson has registered 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists), and 73 penalty-minutes in 49 appearances.

On signing for the NIHL Blaze Simpson said…"I’m excited to be back playing after some time away and would like to thank Sean, the management and the players for welcoming me back over these past few weeks.”

“The team have been performing well and I want to be able to contribute anyway I can to help the team push on over the remainder of the season.”

NIHL Blaze Head Coach, Sean Alderson said…“Unfortunately due to work commitments Niall was unable to feature much for us last season and he wasn’t in a position to return at the start of the season.”

“However, with his circumstances having now changed slightly he got in touch in the run up to Christmas to enquire about the possibility of returning and he has now been training with us for several weeks.”

“He is a great team guy and one of those players that is willing to play any role for the team and it’s good to have him on back on board.”
