IDP Coventry NIHL Blaze are pleased to announce the return of 20-year-old defenceman, Charles Coney, for the 2025/26 season.  

Coney, who returns on a full time contract having split last season between the NIHL Blaze and NIHL1 South side Milton Keynes Thunder, registered 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist), and 10 penalty-minutes in 11 appearances for the NIHL Blaze last season.  

On re-signing for the NIHL Blaze Coney said… “I’m really excited to be back for another season with the Coventry NIHL Blaze.”

“I think we’ve got a strong, competitive team this year with a real shot at competing for some silverware and I can’t wait to get the season started.”  

NIHL Blaze Head Coach, Sean Alderson said… “Having Charles back with us full time this season will boost our defensive line-up.”  

“He brings good size, can carry the puck and is comfortable playing on either side which provides us with options though the line-up.”
