Coventry NIHL Blaze are delighted to announce the signing of defenceman Liam Bartholomew ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The blue liner joins the Blaze from the Telford Tigers 2, adding further depth, size and experience to Coventry’s defensive unit as Head Coach Sean Alderson continues to build the roster for the new campaign.

Bartholomew arrives in Coventry with valuable NIHL experience, having spent the previous campaign with Telford Tigers 2. The defenceman has developed through the British hockey system and brings another reliable option to the Blaze blue line.

Standing at 6'2", Bartholomew adds size and a strong physical presence to the defensive group, giving the Blaze another player capable of competing in the defensive areas of the ice while contributing to the team's transition play.

His arrival continues the Blaze’s focus on building a balanced roster ahead of 2026/27, combining established players with new additions looking to make their mark in Coventry colours.

Bartholomew joins a defensive group that already includes returning players such as Joel Gavigan, Daniel Upton, Daniel Retter and Jack McKay, adding further competition and depth as the Blaze look to improve on a 2025/26 season which saw Coventry finish third in NIHL 2 with 47 points.

With a fresh opportunity ahead, Bartholomew will be looking to settle into the Blaze system and play his part as Coventry continue their push towards competing for silverware.

Welcome to Coventry, Liam!
