IDP Coventry NIHL Blaze are pleased to announce the return of 30-year-old Great Britain Women’s Captain, Jodie Alderson-Smith, on a two-way deal with WNIHL Elite League side Solihull Vixens.

Alderson-Smith, who led the WNIHL Elite League in points last season with 59 points (33 goals, 26 assists) in 20 appearances, registered 4 points (1 goal, 3 assists) in 9 appearances for the NIHL Blaze last season.

On re-signing for the NIHL Blaze Alderson-Smith said…

“I am really looking forward to the new season, the boys have always treated me like I am one of them and have my back no matter what and it’s a really great group to be around.”

“Sean has been building a solid team and I’m excited to be a part of it for another year, we will definitely be pushing for some silverware this year.”

“Jodie brings a lot of experience to the group and her ability to play both as a forward and in defence provides us with options.”

“Since joining us she has mainly played in defence but this season she is more likely to feature in the forward lines, a role she is more familiar with.”
